Big News in a Little Package!

Big News in a Little Package!

This month we’re are proud to be announcing a different type of adventure. It’s not New Zealand or America but something a little closer to home. Welcome to the world, little Max Harold Mason! That’s right! The long awaited Bounce Baby has been born! In true Kelly style, she managed to take a half day off before little Max decided it was time to meet everyone. Although Kelly was set to finish work on Friday the 3rd of November and wasn’t due until Monday the 13th of November, Max fast tracked the process and was born on Thursday the 2nd of November at around 5pm, weighing in at a healthy 7lb 1oz.

Max became an instant celebrity in Maryborough and is already melting hearts. The “Hugs to Baby” ratio is definitely unbalanced with this little fella and trust me when I say we’ve all had a fair go! To Kelly and Guy, we want to say a HUGE congratulations on your little bundle of joy, we couldn’t be happier for the both of you!

Have you Heard

Remember in the first article when we said we weren’t going to talk about New Zealand? We may have fibbed a bit. But it’s for a good reason! Bounce Life Skills, our original non-accredited job seeker program, has been running in New Zealand for the last 2 months alongside the social enterprise, LIFT and has been featured in Hawke’s Bay Today Newspaper! The article explains Lift and how the Bounce Life skills Program is helping young job seekers get into the workforce. You can read this amazing article by clicking HERE.

Trainer of the Month

In the second last month of the year we want to feature a trainer who always gives 100 percent in everything she does. Described as a kind hearted, straight shooter, Pamela McConchie is loved and respected by job seekers and providers alike. Pamela adores animals, so much so that she actually brought a dog into her program once (which delighted everyone in attendance). Described by Chris, our Business Development Officer, as “The Mind Map Queen”, Pamela doesn’t hold back when it comes to decorating her training room with the most beautiful and colourful mind maps Bounce has ever seen! Thank you Pamela for brightening up the lives of everyone around you.

Tip of the Month

“Don’t wait for the new year to do something you really want to do. January 1st is just a date. Why do tomorrow what you can do today.”

Get ACTIVE with your job seekers in 2018

Get ACTIVE with your job seekers in 2018

Providing 6 clear techniques, the specifically designed ACTIVE Model helps consultants become a more trusted and influential point of reference to job seekers. By using these points, you can create better communication between you and your job seeker and fine tune your skills to achieve lasting outcomes.

The workshop covers:

  • ANCHOR: Become the anchor for positive placements of job seekers and employers
  • CLARITY: Get clarity on needs/vision by asking the right questions
  • TRANSPARENCY: Be authentic in your communication
  • INTEGRITY: ‘Be your word’ do what you say you are going to do by when you are going to do it
  • VALUES: Know what is important and deliver on that
  • ENGAGEMENT: Build rapport, developing a sense of trust which allows you to

The ACTIVE Model has received consistent positive feedback from consultants and has become a staple upskilling program for some providers who wish to give their consultants the best possible skills in their work-life interactions.

“[The] session was well organised and executed. [It] will allow me to improve my services to my clients in a more personalised manner.” – JT, MADEC August 2017

For more information on the ACTIVE Model training or any other training you might be interested in, contact our National Business Manager, Matt Luttrell on 0409 244 599 or email matthew@bounceaustralia.com.

Matt Turns 3!

Our spectacular National Business Manager, Matt Luttrell, hits his 3 year anniversary with Bounce this month! Boy, time has flown! It seems like just yesterday when Matt came to our office, fresh faced, hair gelled and briefcase in hand, ready to take on whatever challenges we threw at him. And yet, it’s like he’s always been here. He’s a much loved part of the furniture! Here are just a couple of quotes from his adoring fans (Bounce Trainers):

“You taught me to always do the hardest thing first so the rest of the day will be easy! Is that how you manage to get onto the golf course each day?!” – Bec

“Love the way you always call back with advice and encouragement in the midst of crazy situations.” – Cheryl

“Thank you for always promptly replying to me emails and go way and beyond your call of duty for everything.” – Dani

And of course: “Matt, you have the best hair and in general you are just a top bloke.” – Matt Luttrell… he’s a modest fella.

Happy Bounce Birthday Matt! We appreciate all the hard work you do every day and yes, your hair is amazing!

Changing Young Lives in New Zealand with LIFT

Alongside the Hawkes Bay’s new social enterprise, LIFT, Bounce has now completed its very first Bounce Life Skills Program in New Zealand. What an honour! I could write a whole 10 pages about the amazing things that went on during that program, but I think it’s best left to our talent trainer, Jacqui Tribe.

“What an amazing few weeks it’s been here in New Zealand. Just ten short days ago, eight young people volunteered to take part in the inaugural Bounce training in Napier, a relatively small town on the east coast of the North Island.
These young people face many issues. Added to low levels of education and high levels of unemployment; drugs, teenage pregnancy and suicide are rampant. They all walked in describing themselves as lonely, lost and unwanted. One in a state of panic. None over the age of 21 and all searching for something.
Day after day, they kept coming back. They laughed, they cried, they listened and they talked – often all at the same time which is what you do when you come from a family of ten kids! And they transformed.
All left with new knowledge, not only of themselves but others, all wanting to make a contribution to the world, all with hope and most importantly, a plan. One aiming on becoming a Chef, another an Early Childhood Educator, an Accountant, a Tattoo Artist, an Editor, an Art Teacher, another planning on Hotel Management and a Hair Stylist.
Eight young people. A million possibilities. One amazing program.”

Bounce is planning to build on our pilot program and help continue to change young lives across New Zealand.

Trainer of the Month

Our trainer of the month for October is one of our brightest burning lights of optimism and positivity. If you have been lucky enough to be in the same room and this wonderful gentleman, you will know exactly what we mean. Boris Banjanac can basically be described as a walking, talking, genuine smile. He sees the silver lining in every situation and his infectious energy never fails to spread throughout not only his classroom but the entire building that he is working in. You know you have a great trainer on your hands when someone talks about them and states, matter-of-factly, “he’s just one of those good people, you know?”. To Boris, everything is “beautiful” and when I asked what his favourite quote was, he told me “Be the creator of your own destiny. If you allow someone else to write it, you may not like the way it turns out. Take charge, create opportunities, and be happy.” And I think that sums him up pretty well. Thank you Boris for being you and giving the people courage to be themselves every single day!

Tip of the Month

“Never let the negative opinions of others bring you down. You know who you are and what you stand for, as long as you hold strong to that the only damage people can do is to themselves.”

Trainer of the Month

Bounce is full of wonderful and inspirational facilitators and our beautiful trainer of the month for September is no exception to the rule. Truly genuine and kind hearted, Fiona Maybery is a shining star in our Bounce team. A country girl at heart (even though she lives her life in the city), once Fiona sets her mind to something she never gives up and being a self-proclaimed “long suffering Demons fan” we can tell it’s true! She finds the good in people no matter who they are and dedicates herself to bring out that good for everyone to see. “Just want to say a big thank you to my Bounce trainer, Fiona, for all the work she put into teaching and coaching us students. I can tell you that throughout this program she is passionate about helping people learn and grow.” – Alison Kuzminsky, Bounce Participant 2017. We want to thank you too Fiona, keep being amazing!

Bounce has doubled in business across the last 6 months!

The last 6 months have been absolutely incredible for Bounce in regards to growth and development. The trainer team has exploded into a massive 36 accredited trainers across Victoria and is still growing. In particular, regional Victoria has really taken off in places such as Horsham, Mildura, Albury, Echuca, Shepparton, Kerang, Seymour, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Benalla and soon Swan Hill and Warrnambool. Our Corporate Professional Development is also growing rapidly with clients such as The Department of Employment making bookings for a whole range of work. Word is spreading in the overseas market, with a new Life Skills program piloting in New Zealand next month, Trainers Training and expansion in the USA and new interest from Scotland as well. So, thank you! Your ongoing support is what makes Bounce possible and we could not have come this far without all of you!

Trainer of the Month

Our very special Trainer of the Month for August, is a woman whose life experiences and continual positivity never fail to inspire any group she spends time with. Hailing originally from a small town in Germany, Sarah Kempf chose Australia to be her home away from home and we are so glad she did! Describing herself as “hopelessly optimistic”, Sarah adores travel and learning about other cultures. By day she teaches job seekers to live the life they love, but by night she teaches herself Spanish, hangs out with her superhero rescue dog, Hercules, paints and gets into creative cooking. Sarah is the ultimate illustration of “teaching by example”, and we thinks she’s truly amazing! Well done Sarah, you’re a star!

Tip of the Month

“Be the best version of yourself when making choices. Never make decisions when you’re angry, tired or sad. Negative emotions cloud your judgement and lead you down the wrong path.”

Bouncing into New Zealand

Bouncing into New Zealand

Bounce has taken that next big step and headed into new territory! On the 12th of June, Maria was invited to run a series of workshops for Employment Consultants in Auckland and Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, focusing on skills to help engage disengaged youth.

“One of the best sessions I’ve been to in a long while. Maria was an amazing facilitator” – Christine Manson, Attendee
“Loved it. It was awesome. I really enjoyed the body language stuff and about VAK. I think I could get better at these and use these in my work.” – Rosie Whiaitiri, Attendee

This is an incredible step for Bounce and we couldn’t be more excited!

On the back of her New Zealand trip, Maria has just returned from America, having attended the 3 day Geographic Solutions, Workforce Technology Conference in Monterey, California. Maria was invited speak and discuss Engaging the Disengaged through Emotional Intelligence and Online Strategies. Tech and Marketing nerd, Nettie, was also lucky enough to be invited along for her first trip out of the country, which she was pretty happy about! Maria’s talk had a great response from everyone and Bounce has been invited back for next year’s conference in Florida.

While having extensive experience in training, assessment and people management, Josh can also play 10 different types of instruments (10!?), delve into the inner workings of the mind with a love of psychology and raise 3 kids all at the same time… he can’t solve a Rubix Cube though, not even with instructions. That doesn’t stop him trying because he doesn’t shy away from a challenge! Thanks for your dedication, Josh!

Gforce & Life Skills

Life Skills is our passion, it’s what we do, and so when we get asked to run a pure Life Skills program we jump up and say “yes please!”. The inspirational people at Gforce, Geelong, locked in a solid 2 weeks of pure Life Skills for 10 lucky job seekers. For 2 weeks our very excited Bounce Trainer, Linda Pierson, took the Transition to Work group under her wing and taught them everything from Rapport to Resumes, making sure they got the full range of valuable Life and Employability Skills.

Joe Duffy

Trainer of the Month

Every month we showcase one of our amazing trainers. It’s our way of saying thank you and letting the world know how great these people are and this month is no exception. Joe Duffy is one of very few men amongst our trainers and we just couldn’t do without him. Flexible, fun and insightful, Joe takes his classes to the next level, so much so that he has even brought his wife into class to give skin care lessons! Joe pulls his inspiration from none other than Winston Churchill, and gave this beautiful recited quote “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts”. Thank you Joe for your constant dedication!
