Weekly Coaching Session Success

Weekly Coaching Session Success

Bounce Online is having an incredible impact – and weekly coaching sessions are the secret to it’s success!

How many online training programs include a genuine human element? Not many we wager, but Bounce Online does – and it’s making all the difference when it comes to engagement, completion rates and moments of real change!

When participants are first given access to the program, they are invited to join weekly coaching sessions with our Bounce Coaches. These sessions are an opportunity for participants to unpack their learnings from the program and find ways to overcome some of the hard things they might come up against as they move through the course.

The structured sessions we ran during September had an incredible participation rate of 76%, and the feedback we received tells us it’s making all the difference.

Here’s what JobLife participant Justine said about her experience with our coaches, Chris and Linda:

“I have not seen another program that is so positive as this one and makes you feel cared about and valued as I have by Chris and Linda. I hope more people partake in doing this program to help better themselves and begin to believe in their abilities.”

If you’re not using Bounce Online, now is a great time to talk with Tom or Kelly about how to start using it with your clients.

New partnership with genU Training

genU Training has partnered up with us to create an exciting new qualification for people working in employment services.

Their new custom-built CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services is designed for anyone working in employment services and focuses on building coaching knowledge and skills so consultants can confidently support their clients.

The qualification includes our Bounce Job Coach (Foundation) course, and upon completion, participants are awarded their Job Coach micro-credential or digital badge.

genU Training General Manager Lisa Abbott is excited to have our digital badge in their new qualification. Here’s what Lisa had to say about working with Bounce:

“genU Training partnered with Bounce to be able to provide our learners with a holistic environment to enhance their soft skills through the Job Coach Certification whilst building their professional practice through the innovative, co-designed Certificate IV in Community Services for the Employment Services industry.

We hope together we can support the Employment Services industry in preparing Employment Services professionals to progress more jobseekers back into meaningful employment.”

Do you play to your strengths?

Do you play to your strengths?

Can you think of a time when you’ve had a task to complete that was really hard work? You might have felt tired, frustrated and lacked the motivation to get it done. Chances are, this task didn’t play to your strengths.

Strengths are much more than the things you are good at or capable of doing. Strengths give you energy because they’re the things that you do well, you enjoy doing, and you do often. But not everyone knows exactly what their strengths are and how they influence the way we perform.

Research shows that when we are aware of and develop our strengths, we feel more energised, learn faster, perform better and strive to do our best.

If you want to feel motivated and enjoy the tasks you perform, understanding your strengths, weaknesses and your learned behaviours is the fastest and most effective way to boost your potential and your performance.

WHAT IS THE STRENGTHS PROFILE?
Strengths profiling was launched in 2009 as a world-leading tool developed by cappfinity that changes the way we assess, develop and leverage talent in people.

The Strengths Profile tool is unique and distinct from traditional one-dimensional strengths tests, assessing 60 strengths across three dimensions of energy, performance and use.

Here at Bounce, we have our very own certified Strengths Practitioner, who can help you with your strengths discovering journey. The Strengths Profile includes a 30-minute online assessment, and a 1-hour debrief with Bec, our strength expert who will help you interpret and understand your strengths profile and give you strategies to help you perform at your best.

If you’d like to start using your strengths to boost your performance, energy levels and productivity check out the Strengths Profile Page on our website for more information or contact us via info@bounceaustralia.com with the subject line “Show me my strengths!”

Changing lives in New Zealand

This is a MUST WATCH! We’re so inspired by this incredible story that has come out of Hawkes Bay in New Zealand where the Bounce Program is delivered through LIFT Social Enterprises.

Tyler was lost and very uncertain about her future before a chance meeting with the LIFT Team at a shopping centre completely changed her life. Now she’s a Bounce Trainer, and she’s helping others just like her, find their way. How incredible! We can’t wait to see where LIFT takes our program next.

Horsing Around

Last month, the Bounce Team visited Three Bridges Horse Stud at Eddington to work with Jess Liston from Inner Rhythm and her horses Jack, Jorge and Sweety for an afternoon of leadership exploration and team-building.

Inner Rhythm provides teams and individuals with the opportunity to explore their leadership styles through equine-assisted therapy. Jess’s herd of highly intuitive horses are used to strengthen human relationships through their ability to mirror our energy, leadership, and emotions. Horses quickly and clearly show you how you operate in your daily life.

As a team, we were able to make connections with our feelings and energy levels and see first-hand how they present themselves when the horses responded (or didn’t!) to our different leadership styles. Thanks, Jess, for a really fun and eye-opening afternoon!

Trainer of the Month

This month we want to showcase a very special trainer who has just ticked off one whole year of delivering Bounce Programs in Queensland with our awesome partners ACE Community Colleges.

With a heart of gold and over 50 participants singing her praises, Sharon Hardy is a shining star. So, it’s no surprise that we’ve chosen her to be our Trainer of the month for March.

But Bounce isn’t the only journey Sharon has been on in her lifetime, for 12 whole years Sharon owned and operated a successful dance and performing arts school in Sydney. Many of her past students are currently dancing in Companies both in Australia and around the world, and some have even begun their own dance schools. Not surprisingly, a lot of Sharon’s past students keep in touch, and she is able to follow the next generation through their dance journey.

“Sharon has been an amazing trainer, and I’m so glad to have met her and learnt from her. She has opened my eyes to so many things, and my life will be better for having known her.”
Emma-Jane, 2019

Keep being amazing, Sharon! We love watching you dance through your Bounce journey, inspiring participants as you go!

Coaching for A Human Future

Coaching for A Human Future

There’s nothing like getting straight back into training, and Maria along with Teri Britschgi, our Vice President of Operations for Bounce USA, has been in South Australia delivering some exciting new coaching content as part of a trial program we’re running with MADEC Australia. Over six days, Maria and Teri worked with 18 enthusiastic Employment Consultants from MADEC’s site in Christies Beach to build their coaching skills and give them more confidence when working with their clients. Judging by the feedback, the training was a hit!

“I really enjoyed the whole three days. You have challenged and helped me to see the best in myself and who I can be.” – Deb H

“Maria is an amazing facilitator. I am so ready for this next step. Thank you so much for your superior suggestions!” – Tracy

“I found the training fantastic, not only for my work but for my personal life as well. I would recommend all MADEC employees get involved.” – Nigel

We’ve discovered a new way to work with Employment Consultants, or Job Coaches as we like to call them and the future looks incredibly exciting. For these brand-new Job Coaches, working with their clients will now involve using the very best coaching techniques and tools to help boost engagement and support them into employment or further training faster and more effectively than ever before. If you’d like to find out more, send an email to info@bounceaustralia.com with the subject line “Tell Me More!”

Emotionally Intelligent Workplaces

Did you know that one of the most downloaded documents from The Way Finders Network is our Emotional Intelligence Poster?

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capacity to understand and manage your emotions. Mastering the skills involved with EI including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy and motivation is incredibly important for anyone working with people and especially for those working in employment services.

The poster is a simple and highly effective tool when it comes to keeping EI front of mind in your workplace. We’ve had lots of Job Coaches tell us that they’ve printed the poster and sat it at their desk as a great reminder to practise EI daily.

A Minute with Maria

“I love this TedTalk – it focuses on self-awareness and the simple things you can do to bring a greater level of awareness by just asking one simple but powerful question. As coaches, it’s so important that we show up to every session with our clients as the best version ourselves, so that we can give them all the help they need.”

We’re coming for you 2020!

We’re coming for you 2020!

A new year, a new decade and infinite possibilities! There’s nothing like a couple of weeks respite, to practise some self-care and re-charge those batteries so that you’re ready to hit the ground running. And everyone here at Bounce HQ has been doing just that. It’s only the 3rd week of January, and we’re already taking bookings for our accredited programs with our partners ACE Community Colleges and Jesuit Community College, running training with corporate businesses and working on some very exciting new content as well!

2020 is going to be HUGE!

Meet our new QLD Business Development Officer

We are excited to introduce you to Theo Nguyen, our new Business Developer for Queensland! Theo’s role here at Bounce is to increase engagement with the programs delivered in partnership with ACE Community Colleges in Queensland. He’s the person to contact if you’re looking to book in QLD.

Theo officially joined the Bounce team on the 6th of January and will be working with the amazing team of Queensland Trainers, ACE Community Colleges, Employment Providers, Community Groups and the wider business community.

Before joining Bounce, Theo has spent 9 years working within JobActive & Disability Employment Services and knows firsthand exactly how rewarding and challenging the industry is.

“I am very excited to be joining the Bounce team and working with ACE because I want to make a difference in our community and help job seekers and students move forward in life. There is nothing better than help to change people’s lives.”

If you’d like to contact Theo, his mobile number is 0488 196 728 or email him theo@bounceaustralia.com

Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams

Not only is it the start of a new year, but it’s also a new decade which means you have an opportunity to shape your future however you choose.

Why do we make resolutions for a new year? External motivators, like the start of a new year or even a birthday, can provide the opportunity for you to reflect on your past experiences and decide whether or not you’re up for a change. But sticking to your goals, now that’s a whole other challenge! In fact, on average most people have ditched their new year’s resolutions by the start of February.

But there is hope! Here are our top 5 tips to help you stay focused on achieving your goals. Give them a go today!

A Minute With Maria

A new addition to our newsletter for 2020 – Spend a minute with Maria and learn more about what interests, motivates and inspires her. Each month she’ll share with you a story, a piece of research or something purely indulgent that she is excited by.

“Three weeks at the beach gives you plenty of time to read, learn and be inspired! While researching new content for our training programs, I found this interesting piece on ‘blind-spots’. Watch this short video and make sure you don’t have any distractions around you so you can concentrate.”

“Blind spots highlight how we can get so focused on something and completely miss other things around us. As a Job Coach, you might want to consider when working with clients how often you can get so focused on a certain path for clients, that you forget what they want and miss some important information in their communication. Keep an eye out for ‘blind spots’ when you meet with your next client.”

Planning for 2020

Planning for 2020

Not long now until the clock strikes midnight and 2019 turns into 2020. Have you commenced planning for Jan and Feb yet? We know a lot of Employment Service Providers who already have, and we are quickly booking out our ACE Community College and Jesuit com unity College three and six-week Accredited Bounce Programs. The benefits of running a Bounce Program in January include:

  • Getting your clients motivated for a fresh start in the New Year
  • Hitting the reset button ourselves and looking at what services we can utilise as a Provider
  • Getting ahead of the pack with an activity for your clients in January, rather than waiting for Feb and losing a month

Give our National Business Manager, Matt Luttrell, a call on 0409 244 599 or email him via matthew@bounceaustralia.com and give him a date you would like to commence a Bounce Program!

Bounce Awards Night

Trainer of the Month isn’t the only way we show appreciation to our amazing Bounce family. Friday the 15th of November saw Bounce hold its very first Annual Bounce Awards! A night for Bounce staff, trainers and partners, to come together and celebrate the hard work and dedication of everyone in the world of Bounce.

This night is something that we have wanted to do for so long, and finally it came to be a reality. Being able to say thank you to everyone the way we’ve always wanted to was an exhilarating experience for everyone involved.

And what awards night would be complete without the actual awards!? Five trophies were handed out in total and were accepted to the overwhelming roar of applause, whistles, and yes, a few tears!

So, without further ado, the Bounce award winners for 2019 are… *drumroll please*

The Way Finder of the Year Award: Linda Pierson

For flexibility to their training, and outstanding employment outcomes and completion rates.

Potential Lives Here Award: Amanda Simpson

For continual improvement to completion rates, improvement in quality of training, positive attitude to learning, and honing their craft.

Bounceketeer of the Year: Chris Young

For upholding and representing Bounce’s values to the highest standard.

The Seriously Clever Award: Prue Howard

For thinking outside of the box, flexible and intuitive training, application of all skills for the support of others, and adaptability.

The Dog Ate my Homework Award: Stephen Tuxford

For his continuous struggle with returning feedback, disclaimers and confidentiality agreement forms, but creating a system so he’s never late with paperwork again.

Laughter, reminiscing and a few cheeky glasses of champagne saw the evening out, with everyone heading home smiling from ear to ear. Thank you so much to everyone involved, we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Silly season got you stressed?

The Way Finders website is getting some seriously clever content lately, and it’s all focused on self-care for people working in employment services! There are new blogs, podcasts and downloads to be had, including this fantastic blog all about stress! It even comes with a super quick stress assessment quiz to help you better understand your stress levels!

Trainer of the Month

It’s our last Trainer of the Month for the year! We’ve done, seen and experienced more than ever before, and with such an exceptional year comes an equally exceptional trainer! Having been with Bounce for over nine years, he is basically part of the furniture! If you haven’t guessed it already, November’s trainer of the month is none other than Mr Phil Pollard!

Phil is a man like no other. He can (and will) walk into any building with his hand outstretched, a smile on his face, and impart wisdom onto anyone that will listen. For Phil, helping people isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle – and boy, does it show!

Phil has worked alongside Bounce delivering accredited programs, non-accredited programs, and programs in the furthest reaches of the country to offshore indigenous communities. You name it, and most likely, Phil’s done it – changing lives as he goes.

We asked Phil what the highlights are for him when it comes to training:

“My highlight is receiving calls, well after the programs are over, from participants who want to share their amazing experiences from their participation. It really doesn’t matter who gets into my groups because none of them can escape being coached into their greatness and having a positive impact in their lives.”

Here we are Phil, nine years later and we can’t thank you enough for your dedication and loyalty to changing peoples lives! Keep being amazing (we know you will anyway!).

Self-Care Tip of the Month

“My work inspires me, but when I get overworked, I make sure I engage in positive conversations with my team that make me feel good. It gives me energy. This month try to figure out what gives you energy and makes you feel good, then jump on in and do it!”

– Maria Smith

Flying High

We’re officially half-way through the year and Bounce is showing no signs of slowing down! So many incredible things are happening here in Australia, but have we mentioned all the cool things happening in the US?

With aeroplanes now being her second home, Maria set off for a whole two weeks in June to lend her incredible voice to the Geographic Solutions, Working Technology Conference in Monterey, California as a Keynote Speaker. Speaking on the importance of engagement and connection, the packed room listened, learned and laughed, taking away some great insights to filling their cup to keep their minds and bodies healthy.

But that’s not all that happened on Maria’s trip! She also had the pleasure of training five new Bounce USA trainers, teaching them the ins and outs of the Bounce Methodology and the science behind what we do here at Bounce.

All in all the trip was a huge success, and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Geographic Solutions for inviting Maria to speak and be a part of your incredible conference, and the Bounce USA team for putting together such great training.

Is your Emotional Intelligence higher than you think?

While trawling through research papers and googling new and exciting studies (a huge part of what we do here at Bounce), we came across this handy little article from www.inc.com.

Short and to the point, “If You Say Yes to Any of These 8 Questions, Your Emotional Intelligence Is Higher Than You Think” gets right to the heart of why it’s so important to develop Emotional Intelligence – especially in business. If you have a spare minute, take a look, it will give you a good gauge of where your Emotional Intelligence is at.

If you or your team could do with an EQ boost, give us a call. We can take your Emotional Intelligence to new heights with our flexible training and coaching packages, designed specifically to meet your needs.

“Best session I’ve been to. I wish it was longer. Every person who works with other humans should have to do this.” – Cara Jarrett, People Branch – Department of Jobs and Small Business

“Maria has a wonderful manner and an amazing depth of knowledge on the subject. I learnt a lot about myself and the way I interact with clients and how I can improve both myself and my interaction.” – L.S. Matchworks Ballarat

Trainer of the Month

So many great trainers and so little time left in the year! Our trainer of the Month for July is none other than the amazing and inspirational Belinda P! Belinda has lived the majority of her adult life motivating people through training and education across the Northern Territory and Victoria – and it is still her passion to this day!

When she’s not in the training room, she’s spending time with her amazing kids, volunteering for her community and taking fun to a whole new level with Roller Derby – Awesome!

The knowledge, experience and passion that Belinda brings to her role is astounding.

“I never get tired of meeting my participants and supporting them in whatever their journey is; seeing them learning to back themselves for their knowledge & experiences. And I think I learn as much from them as they do from me!”

On behalf of everyone at Bounce, thank you Belinda, you are an inspiration to us all, keep being amazing every single day!

Tip of the Month

“When we stop learning, we stop moving forward. Everything we could ever hope to learn is right at our fingertips (literally), so take your passion and strive to know more every single day!”

– Maria Smith
